1. What are our pricing and payment options?

Our pricing is determined by the complexity of the work requested, please see attached price list. We offer several payment options for your convenience, including bank transfer, mobile money, PayPal and cash app. Please reach out for a detailed quote and choose the method that is best accessible to you.

2. How long does it take for an illustration to be ready from the order date?

A Marie D illustration takes no more than 2 weeks from the date of order to be completed. This timeframe includes consultations and iterations with clients. However, this time frame may vary depending on the complexity of the design, the number of illustrations requested and the current workload from other clients. In the event you find this time period lengthy, we entreat our clientele to place the order at least 3 weeks before the date it is actually needed.

3. Can you request a rush order?

Yes, you can, we understand that at times there may be a need for expedited services to meet pressing needs hence we at Marie D offer rush orders, but at an additional cost. While we typically complete illustrations in 2 weeks, we can expedite the process to a week or even sooner depending on specific circumstances. Please contact us to discuss your timeline.

4. What is the illustration process ?

Initial Consultation & Part payment

1. We Discuss client’s vision where we ask key questions about style, occasion, preferences, and requirements. After which the client would be invited to make part payment.

 

Gather Reference Materials

2. You, the client, can share images of designs and fabrics that you like. Any other  other relevant details or inspiration are also collected

 

Mood Board Creation

3. We then Create a digital mood board incorporating client’s ideas( color palettes, pattern ideas, and style elements) and suggestions

 

Preliminary Sketches

4. After stage three Developing initial design concepts based on the mood board begins. 2-3 rough sketches will be presented to you to keep you in the loop

 

Client Feedback and Iteration

5. A discussion with you, concerning the initial sketches is had where any requested changes or refinements can be agreed upon.

 

Detailed Design Development

6. We will create more polished illustrations based on client feedback

 

Final Approval and Adjustments

7. After which a Presentation of the detailed design to the client  for  approval. You can make any two last-minute tweaks if necessary

5. Can I amend or cancel an order?

Yes, you can cancel an order made within one week from the date of the request. Due to the value of time and effort involved we cannot accommodate cancellations or changes beyond this period on a whim. Amendments at no charge to the client can however be made before the actual completion of the illustration. After the completion of an illustration, however, a client is entitled to up to three major amendments, any further beyond these three will attract a charge.

6. What rights do you have over the illustration after purchase?

Upon the purchase of an illustration, you the client enjoy the economic rights, meaning you can use the illustration for personal or commercial purposes as agreed. However, we retain the Inextinguishable moral rights to the work. This means that the illustration should not be altered in a way that degrades its value, used improperly or presented in a manner that could harm the integrity of the artwork, as this could attract penalties or even legal action. We ask that you kindly respect the ingenuity and hard labour of the illustrator.

7. Can I use the illustration for commercial purposes?

Yes, the client can use the illustration for commercial purposes. But this is subject to either giving proper credit to the illustrator, agreeing on a nominal percentage of royalties to the illustrator in lieu of credit or both, depending on the agreement. For clarity’s sake opting for a nominal percentage entitles the client to market the illustration as being their own original work, however, this may attract a higher percentage depending on the agreement. These terms are to ensure that the illustrator’s contributions and labour are recognised and valued in your commercial endeavours.

8. What types of illustrations do we offer and is it possible to request for something outside the norm?

We specialize in Kente and custom fashion illustrations. We are however open to taking requests outside the norm depending on our current workload and the complexity of the request. If you have a unique idea in mind feel free to reach out to use and we will do our best to satisfy your need.

9. Do we offer bulk order discounts?

Yes, we do! if you make an order for 5 or more Illustrations, we offer discounts to make your bulk purchase more cost-effective.

10. Can you collaborate with us on fashion design projects?

Yes! we are open to collaborations with anyone, it doesn’t matter if you are a regular individual, fashion designer, illustrator or brand. We would love to work on a project together. Just reach out and let’s see how we can make your vision a reality.

11. Do we produce work for international clients?

Yes, we do! We are delighted to produce work for clients wherever you are in the world. Our main countries of operation are the United Kingdom and Ghana, but we can accommodate clients from other countries as well, with some prior discussion. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with your specific needs.

12. What is the best way to contact us and the response turnaround time?

The best way to contact us is by sending a dm on instagram or leaving us an email. Alternatively, for consultations or illustration requests, you could book directly on the website. We will get back to you within the course of the day.

13. Do we provide printing or framing services?

No, we do not offer printing or framing services at this time. However, as we continue to expand, this may become a possibility in the future. Please stay tuned for updates!

14. What happens if you are not satisfied with the final illustration?

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for completed works, as we work closely with you based on your given instructions to bring your vision to life.  We hope you understand that refunds for spent labour would be a disservice to the effort and time invested in producing the piece. Please note however that we offer up to three major amendments on completed pieces for free, any further amendments beyond the three aforementioned attract charges.

15. Do we offer any loyalty programs or discounts for returning clients?

Yes, we do! After a fifth order with us you are entitled to a 5% discount on any quantity requested. Additionally, if you make an order for more than 10 illustrations, this 5% discount is added on top of the existing discount for bulk orders. We appreciate our clients and always look out for what’s best for them, happy ordering!

16. How can you show us support?

We would greatly appreciate your support by tagging us in your social media posts and sharing the illustrations with friends and family, letting them know where they came from. Additionally, feedback is always welcome and help us continue to provide high-quality work. Thank you for your kind support.

17. Do we offer lessons or tutorials on how to illustrate?

Currently, we do not offer lessons or tutorials on illustrating. However, as we continue to expand, we are keen to explore this interesting avenue. Look out!
